A Guide to Florida Villas
A Florida villa is the perfect backdrop to your dream Florida holiday. As an ideal base from which to explore all that Florida has to offer, a villa allows you the privacy to unwind and relax in a private haven after a busy day at the theme parks or on the golf course.
Situated throughout the Orlando area, all villas are within easy reach of Disney, Universal and the other theme parks. If you’re planning to spend the bulk of your stay at the parks, a development within daily driving distance will be more convenient. Emerald Island, Formosa Gardens, Indian Creek, Indian Ridge, Lindfields, Oak Island Cove, Windsor Palms and Windsor Hills are all within a 15 minute drive of the parks.
For others, park access may not be essential. Golf is a priority for many Florida holidaymakers; if that’s the case, complexes like Highlands Reserve, Sandy Ridge, Southern Dunes and Windwood Bay, offer fabulous courses combined with excellent facilities and accommodation. If you’re hoping to combine the two pursuits, a development like Southern Dunes, overlooks a golf course and boasts stunning views from some of its properties, but is just 25 minutes drive south of Disney.
Developments vary in style, but with spacious accommodation and fabulous facilities as standard, there’s a villa to suit your needs whatever your group size. All Florida Holidays detached properties come with a private pool and many have had their garages converted into games rooms. Fun facilities such as table tennis, table football and darts can provide a welcome distraction for the younger travellers and a bit of breathing space from the adults.
In terms of style, some properties are more traditional holiday rental villas, while others boast the character of typical Florida residential home. Our largest property sleeps a maximum of sixteen people. With generous entertaining space in most homes, party sizes of sixteen or more, could consider renting two nearby properties on the same development. For smaller parties of six to eight people, Condominiums and Townhouses are often better suited, with the benefit of access to community pools. Condos and Townhouses are featured at Cane Island, Encantada, Fantasy World Resort, Laguna Bay, Legacy Dunes, Sun Lake, Windsor Hills and Windsor Palms.
Many developments enjoy the security of being set within a gated community and boast communal facilities, which can include a clubhouse, community pool, playground, tennis and basketball courts, games room and fitness facilities. Some properties offer wifi; for those that don’t, it’s usually available at the clubhouse. Such developments offer huge benefits and peace of mind for families with children wishing to socialise. For the best selection, consider Bella Vida, Bridgewater, Chatham Park, Emerald Island, Glenbrook, Hampton Lakes, Solana, Southern Dunes, Weston Hills, Westridge Manors, Windsor Hills and Windsor Palms.
And finally, If you’re travelling during the winter months, from October to March, we’d recommend clients consider arranging for their private pool to be heated. Although it’s an optional extra, for which we appreciate the cost can sometimes be difficult to stomach, without it, we'd advise the pool will feel noticeably cooler, particularly in the evenings.
